Undergraduate Medical Education
- Prepare for Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) self-studies and accreditation.
- Design curricula that meet new LCME requirements.
- Employ active learning strategies, e.g., team-based learning™ (TBL), in course implementation.
- Enhance medical education research and evaluation initiatives.
- Create effective faculty development enterprises employing onboarding, leadership training, and individualized plans for early, mid, and mature career needs.
- Provide international relationship/partnership exploration and development.
- Design objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) and other simulation learning experiences.
- Deal professionally with difficult faculty and situations.
Graduate Medical Education
- Measure resident fellowship compliance with Next Accreditation System (NAS) requirements by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
- Plan and implement mock Clinical Learning Environment Review (CLER) site visits.
- Evaluate new sponsorship requirements for GME, including CLER visits.
- Maximize hospital relationships and operational functioning related to resident and fellow training.
- Assess funding of GME programs.
- Strategize future planning and rightsizing of programs to meet institutional and community needs.
- Train new directors of medical education (DMEs), designated institutional officials (DIOs), and program directors.
- Integrate information technology systems, e.g., New Innovations Residency Management Suite, using full range of software capabilities.
Continuing Medical Education
- Review compliance and ACCME® Essential Areas and Elements.
- Comply with new requirements of ACCME for Accreditation with Commendation.
- Enhance program planning and evaluations of CME offerings.
- Improve information technology for CME.
- Evaluate commercial support relations and potential conflicts of interest
policies and implementation.
